Hat Sizing Guide
Hat Sizing Guide
Finding the right hat size is easy once you know how to measure. Because our hats are handcrafted to order, getting your size right the first time is important — and we're here to help.
Step 1 — Measure Your Head
Use a soft fabric measuring tape (or a piece of string you can then measure with a ruler).
- Wrap the tape around the widest part of your head — approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm) above your ears and eyebrows.
- Keep the tape snug but not tight — you should be able to slip one finger underneath.
- Note the measurement in centimeters for best accuracy.
- Measure twice to confirm.
Tip: If you don't have a measuring tape, wrap a strip of paper around your head, mark where it overlaps, then measure the strip flat with a ruler.
Step 2 — Find Your Size
| Head Circumference (cm) | Head Circumference (inches) | Hat Size |
|---|---|---|
| 54 cm | 21.3" | XS |
| 55–56 cm | 21.7"–22.0" | S |
| 57–58 cm | 22.4"–22.8" | M |
| 59–60 cm | 23.2"–23.6" | L |
| 61–62 cm | 24.0"–24.4" | XL |
| 63 cm | 24.8" | XXL |
Tips for the Best Fit
- Between sizes? Size up — our hats have a natural slight stretch with wear.
- Thick or voluminous hair? Measure with your hair styled as you normally wear it.
- Snug vs. loose fit: Most customers prefer a snug fit that sits just above the ears. A looser fit sits slightly higher.
- Hat stretching: Wool and felt hats will gently mold to your head shape over time.
Average Sizes by Gender
These are general averages — always measure for accuracy:
- Women: 55–57 cm (S–M)
- Men: 57–59 cm (M–L)
